What the starting price buys

The starting price, 15,000 DZD, covers a single landing page. Our service page lists what comes with a site: a responsive design built for the phone first, performance measured on a slow connection rather than promised, an admin panel to change text, images and products yourself, a basic search engine setup with link previews, and the domain, hosting and security certificate put in place. If the site is a store, online payment and order and stock management are added.

You try a live version on your own phone before it goes public: that is the “build” step of our method.

Why we publish a starting price and not a range

Because a website is not one product: a landing page for a single goal has little in common with a ten-page site in three languages, or a store with hundreds of products. So we publish the starting price and what it covers, and we say plainly that every addition raises it; the final figure becomes clear once you know what you need.

A published average would be right for one case and wrong for all the others.

What raises the price

Anything that adds work adds to the price. These are the main items, and the question to ask about each:

  • Pages: each needs a design, text and a test on a phone.
  • Languages: Google recommends a separate address for each language version; Arabic, French and English make three versions, each written in the words of its own language rather than translated word for word.
  • Content: who writes the text and prepares the images? This delays a project more than the programming does.
  • A store: the number of products, the online payment connection, order and stock management, delivery, the pages the law requires.
  • Custom features: a booking form, a tracking area, a link to an internal system.

After launch: domain, hosting, warranty, maintenance

A domain name is registered for a set period, then renewed. According to the registrar Gandi’s summary of the registry’s rules, .dz is open to local organizations and registered trademark holders, and .com.dz to companies on the commercial register; registration requires supporting documents, for a period of 2 to 10 years. Confirm these conditions with your registrar.

The practical consequence: the domain is opened with your organization’s documents, so ask in whose name the domain and hosting accounts are opened. With us, the domain, hosting and security certificate are put in place as part of the work, and every key to the site is handed to you.

After delivery a warranty period begins in which any fault is fixed at no cost. Then you choose: an annual maintenance subscription (updates, backups, monitoring) or pay-as-you-go, only when you want a feature added. Nothing is compulsory, and your site is never held hostage to a subscription.

How to compare two quotes

The lowest figure is not necessarily the cheapest. Put the same questions to every provider, us included:

  • What exactly does the price include: the number of pages and languages, a store if there is one?
  • Who writes the text and prepares the images, and what happens if I deliver them late?
  • In whose name are the domain and hosting accounts opened, and will the keys be handed to me?
  • Will I get an admin panel to change text and images on my own, and does the quote include training on it?
  • Is the site tested on a real phone and on a slow connection before it is published?
  • What delivery time, in writing, and what could lengthen it?
  • What warranty period, and is the maintenance that follows compulsory?
  • What happens to my site if our relationship ends?

A landing page, a brochure site or a store?

A landing page suits someone with one goal and one audience: that the visitor calls or asks for a service. A multi-page brochure site suits someone who wants to explain their services and their work, perhaps in several languages. A store sells, takes payment and tracks stock; it costs more and earns its place only if you will really sell online. We will tell you plainly which of the three fits.

In Algeria a store also carries legal requirements that enter its cost: electronic commerce is subject to registration in the commercial register or the craft register, and to publishing a site or web page hosted in Algeria with a “.com.dz” extension (article 8 of Law 18-05). Electronic payment goes through platforms set up and operated by banks approved by the Bank of Algeria and by Algérie Poste (article 27). We cover this in our article “Opening an online store in Algeria”.

How long does it take?

Two to six weeks for a brochure site, depending on the number of pages, longer for a store. Content is usually what delays it, not development: prepare your text and photos early.

What to have ready before you start: the site’s single goal, the text, the images, the logo, and the documents of your organization that domain registration asks for.
